We are seeking a skilled Visual Communication & Multimedia Specialist to create engaging photo, video, and multimedia content that captures the mission, people, and initiatives of the organization. This role combines creative storytelling, technical expertise, and visual design skills to produce professional-quality media for use in presentations, websites, trade shows, social media, and other communications platforms. This is a full-time position is in-person and located in Fredrick, MD. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team to plan, produce, and edit topic-focused videos highlighting organizational initiatives for use in multiple formats (PowerPoint briefs, YouTube, trade shows, website, etc.). 

  • Capture high-quality, compelling photographs of official events, ensuring proper composition, lighting, and framing. 

  • Edit and deliver event photos in a timely manner, selecting the best images to accompany articles, publications, and social media posts. 

  • Provide professional headshot photography for senior leaders and command personnel as needed. 

  • Record high-quality video footage, including interviews with subject matter experts and supplemental B-roll from events, site visits, and field activities. 

  • Edit and produce video content for various distribution channels, ensuring professional quality and alignment with messaging goals. 

  • Propose and develop new multimedia content ideas in collaboration with government and contractor teammates. 

  • Maintain an organized catalog of video and photo assets for use across a variety of products and platforms. 

  • Manage and update social media channels with militarily relevant, pre-approved content in coordination with the Strategic Communications team. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Film, Photography, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • Proven experience in professional photography and videography, including event coverage and studio work. 

  • Proficiency with industry-standard photo and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects). 

  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling principles and composition. 

  • Experience producing content for web, social media, and live presentations. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining and cataloging large media libraries. 

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content management best practices.
