Through our partnership with the DoD, rockITdata’s SkillBridge Rookie Program is a 4-month internship program that aims to provide active duty military of all backgrounds, who are separating within 180 days of service, with the technical skillsets that equip them for flexible careers in sales and the growing industry of AWS technologies. The SkillBridge Rookie Program will assist Rookies in achieving their AWS Cloud Practitioner certification and allow them to gain hands-on mentorship with our technical team. At the completion of the program, each Rookie will be considered for a potential full-time opportunity with rockITdata after their service has ended. Candidates must be eligible to start the program in February. This is a remote position.

During this program you will complete the following trainings:  

  • Professional development training from the rockITdata leadership team 

  • Mentorship from rockITdata consultants and proposal writers for hands-on experience   

  • Train in proposal writing and RFP writing 

  • Identify projects for rockITdata to bid on through the RFP process 

Requirements: 

  • To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces 

  • To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (you may start your application prior to the 180 days) 

  • Command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program 

  • Must be able to commit 20 hours per week 

  • Must be able to commit to the program length of 4 months (February 2025 – June 2025) 

  • Ability to work remotely 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Sharepoint

SkillBridge is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through rockITdata. If selected for full-time employment with rockITdata upon completion of the SkillBridge Rookie Program, you will be eligible for: Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Health Savings Account, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, parental leave, unlimited PTO, 401(k), education reimbursement, and remote flexibility.
